February: Annual Dating Game
This is one of our most popular activities. You can either sign up to be a lucky bachelor or bachelorette, or you can sit and watch the fun on Thursday, 10 February. We'll meet at 8 p.m. in the clubhouse.
March: Pool Opening Party
With the pool set to 80 degrees, you can enjoy the water most of the year! So come to our Pool Opening Party on Saturday, 26 March for a cookout. The party will run from 1 to 3 p.m.

Leaving for the Holidays
Whether or not you are just leaving for the holidays, or you are actually moving out after the fall semester, the following information applies to you.
If you sold your contract with King Henry for the winter semester, your last day here is Friday the 17th. Be sure to stop by the office and sign up for a checkout time. This is crucial to avoid a $35 no-checkout fee. Before your departure please ensure that all of your belongings have been removed from the apartment, and that the light bulbs and smoke alarm batteries are in working order. You may also want to check your account balance with the office staff to see if you owe anything additional.
If you are returning to King Henry for the winter semester, please make sure your apartment is clean before you leave for the break. New roommates may move in while you are gone, and we want them to feel comfortable upon their arrrival. Also, check that your light bulbs and smoke alarm batteries are in working order. This is a good time to resolve any damage issues in your apartment, while every resident is still here.
Keep an eye out for more informational flyers next week.

First Annual Renewal Party
This past Monday, as a thank you to all of our returning residents, King Henry threw its first annual Renewal Party! Our guests not only received a free pizza dinner, also but free t-shirts and credits on their accounts. That means next month's rent is a little bit cheaper!
We also had comment cards for our guests to fill out. We wanted to know what they like and / or don't like about King Henry. The next day we drew a card at random, and that resident won a $25 dinner gift card. Congratulations to Nathan, and thanks to everyone who participated. We really value your opinions and hope to keep you here once again next year.

New Location for Bishop Interviews
We understand that finding time to meet with your bishops can be frustrating, especially when you take into account everyone’s crazy schedules. When you combined that factor with having to meet off property, the inconvenience becomes too great for many tenants. So to resolve this issue, King Henry recently opened apartment #102 as the new bishops’ meeting place for ward member interviews. You’ll want to contact your bishoprics directly to find out what days and hours your bishops will be there, but we wanted to give you a head’s up. We hope this will make setting up interviews easier for everyone. The great part is that you not only have a closer location to meet with your bishops, but you also have a comfortable and spacious area to wait in. If you have any questions about this new feature, call us at 801.370.2400.
Also, keep an eye out for our October newsletter, which will be circulating soon. You will find this blurb on #102 as well as information on upcoming activities, housing policies, and more. Enjoy the conference weekend!

Mail and Packages
We've gotten quite a few questions about receiving mail lately, so we thought we'd give you all the information you need. Your mailing address is as follows:
1130 E 450 N #(apt number)
Provo, UT 84606
Make sure you officially forward your mail through the postal service. This is not something we do--we are not connected to the post office in any way.
Every apartment should have one mail key, generally placed on a hook by the kitchen or on the kitchen counter. Mailboxes are located in two separate areas. If you live on the half the property by the clubhouse, your mailbox is in the set by the volleyball court. If you live on the half of the property across the street, your mailbox is in the set by apartment #56 and the south dumpster.
Packages: if coming through UPS, FedEx, or a similar company, those go right to your door. If for some reason the package was brought to the office, they should leave you a note letting you know. If the package is coming through the normal postal service they will leave a key in your mailbox that lets you into a larger parcel box.
If you are receiving mail for past tenants do not throw it away. Can you imagine if someone did that to your important mail? Just write "return to sender" on the mail and throw it right back into the "outgoing" or "forwarding" mailbox.
That's it! Questions? Call the office.

The fall season isn’t just about going back to school—it’s also about meeting new people and having a blast. On Saturday, 18 September, we’re hosting our annual Back to School Dance from 9 p.m. to midnight. Come meet your friends at the clubhouse pool to swim, dance, or maybe both. It’s the first party of the new season, so you don’t want to miss it. In the upcoming weeks we’ll post flyers to your doors with more details. See you there!

Frequently Asked Questions for Checking In
1) How much is vehicle and bike parking, and how many permits may I have?
---Vehicle parking is $30 and the permit lasts through August 2011. In order to receive a permit you must bring your vehicle registration to the office. You may only have one permit. Regular parking is first come first serve, and reserved parking is $60 each month.
---Bike parking is free and the permit lasts through August 2011. You may have multiple permits. Motorcycles must be parked in appropriate motorcycle spaces, and bikes may either be in the bike racks or attached to the railings. Bikes, scooters, motorcycles--whichever--are never allowed in your apartments.
2) How do I set up utilities for my apartment?
---One person in every apartment must have the utilities in his or her name. Each month the bill will be mailed to that account holder, and all roommates will need to pay their portions.
---The utility companies are very busy at this time of the year, so don't hesitate setting up your account. Contact information for each company is below:
---Provo Power is located at 251 W 800 N in Provo. Their number is 801.852.6820. There is a $75 deposit required.
---Questar Gas is located at 1640 N. Mountain Springs Parkway in Springville. Their number is 801.853.7400.
---Maintenance will be going around lighting your pilot lights.
3) Do I need a laundry card and, if so, how can I obtain one?
---If you are in apartments #1-92, or in any of the four-bedroom apartments (#111, 112, 211, 212, 311, and 312), you do not have washers and dryers in your apartment and therefore need a laundry card.
---Laundry cards are $2 and may be obtained from the Add-Value Station in the clubhouse's laundry room. The machine only takes $5, $10, and $20 bills.
---You can sell back your card to the office for $2 anytime before checking out.
4) What type of swimwear is appropriate on property?
---Women: absolutely no swimsuits that show your midriff or that have deep necklines.
---Men: no speedos, thanks.
---You will be asked to leave if you show up on property (the pool, the volleyball court, wherever) in this kind of swimwear.
5) Which ward am I in, and when / where do we meet?
---Apts #1-28 are in the BYU 45th Ward and meet at 11:30 a.m. in the HFAC Pardoe Theater.
---Apts #29-44, #57-60, and #111-312 are in the BYU 187th Ward and meet at 1:30 p.m. in the HFAC Madsen Recital Hall.
---Apts #45-56 and #107-310 are in the BYU 90th Ward and meet at 9:30 a.m. in E-250 HFAC.
---Apts #106-306 are in the BYU 205th Ward and meet at 9:30 a.m. in the HFAC Pardoe Theater.
***Don't forget to turn in your damage assessment forms within 48 hours of checking in (otherwise you may be inadvertently fined for damages you didn't cause).
Mark your calendars now for our annual Back to School Dance on Saturday, 18 September, from 9 p.m. to midnight. More details to follow!

In Demand: Wireless Internet Now Available
In a recent survey by King Henry, the majority of you emphasized the importance of wireless internet. We understand that, as students, having constant and convenient access to the internet is vital. We are pleased to announce that such access is now possible. Better yet? The speed of our super-fast internet will not change, and the service is free.
Interested? Here's how to get wireless internet in your apartment:
*Come to the office during our open hours and ask to check out a Wireless Access Port (WAP). Keep in mind that this is not the same as a router. Routers should never be used in your apartment, as they can cause the internet to crash for all of King Henry's tenants.
*We'll have you sign up for the WAP, since it must be returned when you check out.
*Then we'll give you an installation card, which gives you step-by-step instructions for setting up your WAP.
*Note that King Henry doesn't provide tech support for wireless services. You may, however, troubleshoot any issues directly with equipment providers.
---------------------------------------
Some reminders:
Don't forget about the Pizza / Talent Night at the King Henry clubhouse in two days. It will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. this Saturday. Come prepared with a talent and have some pizza! Confirm your invite on Facebook.
Also, the Referral-Rewards Competition continues. We still have lots of great rewards left. So either sign up for this fall or refer your friend. See the office for details.
Have a great weekend!
